A commissioned interactive new media installation for Trinity United Church in Warren, NJ. Custom software using a Microsoft Kinect sensor integrates congregants into the overlapping shapes and colors of the video based on their location in the sanctuary. Each zone of real space is assigned a random color, size, orientation, and location in the video projection. Every 50 minutes the piece entirely recomposes itself, yielding a constantly variable, random composition of overlapping shapes, colors, and silhouettes on the chancel ceiling.
The installation was accompanied by an exhibition of two dimensional works, and an artist talk, a discussion forum on contemporary issues of art and faith, and a contemplative service aided by the artwork.
