Charcoal Erasure and Graphite Impression on paper
18x24
Taking techniques from the studies leading up to this series, I begin to explore the notion of Aletheia as both a Platonic and Heideggerian truth. The window, taken from the previous study, is an impression pressed into the paper using a graphite tracing method. Blacking out the paper in charcoal then reveals the impression, while the revealing method of erasure conceals and obscures the revealed impression. The composition of the temple and its surroundings then vacillate between Platonic solid and Heideggerian erasure.
